OMG guys it´s already November and I can´t believe how quickly this year has gone by. As much as I love spring time, another favourite time of the year is the holidays. But even for the most jolly one of us, Christmas gift shopping can sometimes just be a little too much. In a perfect world, all our Christmas shopping would be done at least 2 weeks before Christmas, but that´s typically not the case. And sometimes it´s really hard to buy the right type of gift.

I found this recipe, of how to make your homemade mint sugar scrub, and thought it could be a cute gift for Christmas. Previously, I have tried making DIY coffee scrubs, which are fantastic, but I wanted to try something fresher this time around. It´s super easy to make and will be perfect to give away.

DIY Mint Sugar Body Scrub

Prep Time: 5 minutes Total time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup coconut oil

  • 1½ - 2 cups sugar

  • 1 tablespoon peppermint extract

  • 1 drop green food coloring

Instructions

  1. Place coconut oil in a bowl and microwave on HIGH 15-25 seconds until softened.

  2. Start by adding 1½ cups sugar to the oil, along with the peppermint extract and green food coloring. Mix until ingredients are well combined and food coloring is evenly distributed. If mixture is too wet, add another ½ cup sugar until scrub is to desired consistency.

  3. Spoon scrub into air-tight containers (such as a mason jar) and decorate with twine or ribbon.
