It's been a little minute since Christmas now and I already miss it. I love this time of the year, when my family get together and we just have several days packed with doing absolutely nothing. One downer this year though was that my sister couldn't get time off work to come to Sweden. But one happy surprise was that she sent me a little treat; The Blushin' Babe Palette from Benefit. It's a limited edition gift set (I think it's a part of their holiday collection, correct me if I'm wrong) and has 5 of their most iconic face powders in it.

I saw it when I was in London and regretted that I didn't get it so she got it for me! And now that I've had some time to use it, I thought I'd share my thoughts on it with you guys.

From left to right: Dandelion, Rockateur, Sugarbomb, Hoola, CORAlista, Watt's Up!

First of all, Benefit is always on point with their packaging and this one is no exception. The tin palette sits in a cardboard box and they both have the same cute illustrations on them. Once opened you find four blushes, one bronzer, one cream highlighter, one mascara and one eye-liner. All of these are deluxe sample sizes and sit within a cardboard form inside the palette. I really like the fact that you don't only have blushes in here, so for me, this is more of an essential palette than a blush palette. The name doesn't really do it justice.

The reason why I wanted to get this palette, so bad in the first place, is because it has both the Dandelion blush and Hoola Bronzer in it. IYou can see I have already beat them to death (the names have completely rubbed haha). Dandelion has the most beautiful colour ever but unfortunately it doesn't have the best colour payoff. This makes the blush quite sheer, and for someone darker than me, this is probably a pass. You can build up the colour though, but like I said it's all in all a quite light shade. Rockateur is probably the darkest blush in here and my second favourite of the bunch. I think this would look great on most skintypes and you don't have to grease your elbow to make it work either.

Hoola is bomb though, and I am not surprised, since it's a lot of peoples favourite bronzer. I think it's slightly too warm for me to use as a contour powder but i love to use it as a topper on top of my contour. I think my least favourite in the palette is the Watt's Up! highligher. It's almost too subtle and feels a bit weird to the touch. It also takes a while for it to dry down and once it does it enhances a lot of texture on my skin.

I haven't had the chance to try the liner yet but I have used the mascara in the past, and it's ok. The Roller Lash from Benefit is better, but I generally think mascaras are hard to review, since they perform so differently on different people. I'm still happy I got it though.

So my final thought is that it's a really cute palette. It's a good travel palette as you get some really good staple products in here and the colours are really subtle and elegant. I'm not totally in love with all the blushes but they are all pretty decent and I think I'll probably use them all. The best part of this palette is that it retails for £29.50 but it's actually worth £97.80. That's really amazing!

Unfortunately it's not discontinued on benefit.com, however it might still be availible in stores.

But yah, thanks sis! :)
