THE SWEET PEACH PALETTE

I mentioned a while ago that I got my hands on the Sweet Peach Palette on their pre-sale in December, and took about 2 weeks for it to land in my lap. And ever since then I have been meaning to do a review on it, but haven't gotten around to do it.

Well today is the day people. It's here and it's fabolous. Honestly, based on everyone else's reviews, I didn't expect anything less.

Ok first things first, let's talk about the packaging. It comes in a their typical cardboard box and has a matte finish to it with a cute illustration of the Sweet Peach logo and a gradient of orange and pink colours. And even before I got the chance to open it, I immediately smelt the peachy scent. Actually, I know it's supposed to be a peachy scent, but the scent reminds me more of those candy necklaces you got as a kid. Either way, it smells delish!

The tin box itself is the iconic packaging that Too Faced have on most of their palettes. I really like these as they are really sturdy. Since it also comes with a decent size mirror, this makes it a perfect palette for travelling.

From left to right; White Peach (satin), Luscious (metallic), Just Peachy (shmmer), Bless Her Heart (frosted sheen), Tempting (pearly sheen), Charmed I'm Sure (matte), Nectar (frosted sheen), Cobbler (pearly sheen), Candied Peach (matte with micro-glitter), Bellini (frosted sheen), Peach Pit (pearly sheen), Delectable (satin), Peaches 'n' Cream (matte), Georgia (matte), Caramelized (frosted sheen), Puree (matte), Summer Yum (matte), Talk Derby to Me (satin sheen with micro-sparkle)

Now as for shadows; it comes with 18 shadows, a good mix of both satins, mattes, sheens and shimmers. When I first opened the palette, I thought that the shades in the palette were a bit random and didn't really go. You have some purples, a green, browns and then pinks. So random right? But the more I look at it the more it makes sense. You can literally do tons of looks with this palette and the combination of all of these colours are genious. The most important thing is, you have several good transition shades, you have a base colour and you have a black.

As for formulation, there are some real winners but also some duds. Some mattes have a lot of kick off, but then sheer out on the lid and some shades with sparkle did not translate like that once applied. I know for a fact that when manufacturing eyeshadows, some shades are harder to produce. To be able to obtain ultimate pigmentation the shadows are packed really dense and will therefore "shed" more as you touch them. If that makes any sense? I will therefore forgive the kick-offs, but it's a shame that the colour pay-off isn't consistent throughout the palette. Too Faced shadows do work better with a primer though, so I will give them another go and see. But a lot of them have incredible pigmentation and swatch like a dream.

All in all, this is a really nice palette. I was dying to get my hands on it and I am so glad that I finally have it. And I am really looking forward to playing around with it more.

For everyone that hasn't had the chance to get one yet, do not be alarmed. This palette is now a permanent product in the Too Faced collection and is available on both toofaced, com, sephora.com and ulta, com. And for all my Swedish babes, they even stock these at Sephora Scandinavia now!

Can I get an Amen?
